# Meta Platforms’ Muse app reaches No. 1 in App Store, shares rise 0.6%

Meta's personal AI agent racked up 83,000 downloads in days and climbed to the top of the free app charts, marking its most aggressive push into agentic AI yet.

[Meta](https://cryptobriefing.com/markets/meta/)’s new AI agent app, Muse, hit the No. 1 spot among free applications on the US App Store by September 18, just ten days after its public debut. The app, which handles multi-step tasks like travel booking and email management on behalf of users, gathered over 83,000 downloads within its first few days of availability.

When Meta released the Muse [Spark](https://cryptobriefing.com/markets/spark-2/) model in April 2026, the existing Meta AI app jumped from No. 57 to No. 5 on the App Store, pulling in 46,000 downloads in a single day.

The standalone Muse app launched on September 8, powered by Muse Spark version 1.3, built at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs. It debuted at No. 2 on the iOS charts before overtaking every other free app within about a week and a half.

Users can access Muse through a dedicated iOS or Android app, through the web at muse.ai, or directly inside WhatsApp chats. For now, access is limited to the US. Meta has also teased future integration with its AI glasses hardware, though no timeline has been given.

A free tier covers basic usage, while a “Power” subscription runs $20 per month and a “Maximum” plan costs $100 per month.

Early user applications include automating insurance shopping and managing savings workflows. The app runs these tasks inside secure cloud environments, a design choice meant to keep sensitive data compartmentalized.

Meta recently agreed to an $18 billion settlement related to social media practices, a figure that hangs over any product asking users to hand over access to their inboxes, calendars, and financial tools.

Meta’s advantage is distribution. With billions of users across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, the company doesn’t need to convince people to download a new app so much as it needs to convince existing users to try a new feature. The WhatsApp integration is particularly notable: rather than requiring a separate download, Muse can meet users inside an app they already open dozens of times a day.

Wall Street’s initial response was muted. Meta shares ticked up roughly 0.6% following the Muse launch.
