Mayflower and Hadron launch AI liability program

For practitioners: the emergence of affirmative AI liability insurance products changes how organisations and their boards quantify residual legal and governance risk from deployed models. Per a Business Wire press release, Mayflower Specialty, Ltd. and Hadron launched what they describe as the first dedicated affirmative artificial intelligence liability program in the United States, issued by Hadron and underwritten by Mayflower (Business Wire, Jun 24, 2026). The program provides explicit coverage across directors and officers (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), and errors and omissions (E&O) for enterprise AI deployments, and includes affirmative grants plus a difference-in-conditions and excess layer (Business Wire; Reinsurance News). Jeremy Epstein, Founder and CEO of Mayflower, is quoted calling affirmative capacity "almost nonexistent" and saying Mayflower was "built to close that gap" (Business Wire).
