The tool performs full installs and profile refreshes, supports opt-in automatic renewal on a six-day schedule, and offers an experimental Tailscale remote route, while the developer notes it is an unsigned community preview that does not circumvent Apple's provisioning limits.", "body_md": "I wanted my IPA files, Apple account assignments, and renewal status in one place.\n\nThat became **iPhone IPA Manager**, an open-source Windows application with an\n\noptional private Discord bot.\n\nThis walkthrough covers the basic workflow and its limits. It is a public\n\ncommunity preview, not a way around Apple's provisioning restrictions.\n\n*Disclosure: AI tools assisted with development of this project and preparation of this article. Screenshots show the actual application with sample data.*\n\nThe easiest starting point is Windows 11 x64, Apple's device software, an unlocked\n\niPhone, a USB cable, an Apple account, and an IPA you are entitled to install.\n\nThe standalone build does not require Python. The application runs as a normal\n\nWindows user; installing Apple device software or the optional Wi-Fi bridge\n\nservice is a separate administrator task.\n\nEach account has one assigned IPA. When a new version arrives, select the new file\n\nand save the assignment. Future installs and renewals use that saved choice.\n\nAny file-transfer tool can place completed IPAs in the configured folder. The app\n\ndoes not depend on a particular transfer service and does not supply IPA files.\n\nIts account slots do not increase Apple's allowed number of apps or devices.\n\nA full installation signs and transfers the assigned IPA. A refresh tries to renew\n\nthe provisioning profile, avoiding a full application transfer where supported.\n\nKnown profile expiry or rejection, or a pending IPA change, can trigger a full\n\ninstallation fallback. An ambiguous connection failure is not a reason to blindly\n\nrepeat an install: the job can stop for inspection instead.\n\nThis distinction matters particularly on a slower connection. It does not imply\n\na fixed speed improvement; performance depends on the connection and the job.\n\nThe optional bot runs on the Windows PC. Configure your own bot token locally,\n\nalong with the allowed user, server, and channel. Commands from other users or\n\ndestinations are rejected.\n\nUseful commands include:\n\n| Command | Purpose | \n|---|---|\n| `/accounts` | See account numbers and assignments | \n| `/files` | Browse the managed IPA folder | \n| `/inbox` | Choose an account and file, save the assignment, and install it | \n| `/sideload` | Fully install all assigned apps or a selected account | \n| `/refresh` | Renew assigned apps, using the documented fallback when needed | \n| `/status` | Check the running version, connection, and progress | \n| `/queue` | Queue work until a usable connection is available | \n| `/stop` | Request safe cancellation | \n\nAccount and file choices support autocomplete. The desktop and bot share saved\n\nassignments, so changing a file through Discord also affects subsequent renewal.\n\nThe bot is a remote control for the PC, not a cloud installation service.\n\nPrefer the desktop for Apple credential entry. Optional Discord sign-in forms\n\nare processed by Discord and are not end-to-end encrypted.\n\nAutomatic renewal is opt-in. Its six-day schedule is checked at Windows sign-in\n\nand every 15 minutes. If the PC was off, overdue work waits for a usable connection.\n\nTurning on the PC without signing into the owning Windows user is not enough.\n\nThe PC must be awake, the assigned file must remain available, and the phone must\n\noffer a supported authenticated connection. Scheduling cannot guarantee an app\n\nwill stay available indefinitely.\n\nAfter USB works, local Wi-Fi is the next step. The manager prefers an authenticated\n\nlocal route when one is available. Tailscale can provide an experimental remote\n\nroute, but the tunnel needs to be prepared on home Wi-Fi before leaving.\n\nA VPN cannot make iOS expose a service that has stopped listening. Remote cold\n\nstarts and uninterrupted roaming are not guaranteed. Mobile transfer speed also\n\ndepends on home upload speed, mobile signal, latency, and relay use.\n\nThe current public build is an unsigned community preview. For support, use the\n\nredacted diagnostics and avoid publishing credentials, account details, or pairing\n\nrecords. Feedback on first-run setup across different Windows/iPhone combinations\n\nis particularly useful.\n\nThe project is GPL-3.0-or-later. Its native signing integration derives from\n\n[iloader](https://github.com/nab138/iloader), by nab138 and contributors.\n\n[JAS](https://github.com/jkcoxson/jas), by jkcoxson and contributors, inspired the\n\nprofile-renewal and IP-device research; no JAS code was copied. The repository's\n\n[NOTICE](https://github.com/hxzy69/iphone-ipa-manager/blob/main/NOTICE.md) credits\n\nthe wider dependency community.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/managing-iphone-ipa-installs-and-renewals-from-windows-and-discord", "canonical_source": "https://dev.to/hxzy69/managing-iphone-ipa-installs-and-renewals-from-windows-and-discord-30bg", "published_at": "2026-10-26 14:10:49+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-10-26 14:14:26.376092+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["developer-tools"], "entities": ["iPhone IPA Manager", "Apple", "Discord", "Tailscale", "Windows 11"], "also_reported_by": [], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/managing-iphone-ipa-installs-and-renewals-from-windows-and-discord", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/managing-iphone-ipa-installs-and-renewals-from-windows-and-discord.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/managing-iphone-ipa-installs-and-renewals-from-windows-and-discord.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/managing-iphone-ipa-installs-and-renewals-from-windows-and-discord.jsonld"}}
