Here are the details.\n\n## MacWhisper 14 is here\n\nFor those unfamiliar with [MacWhisper](https://www.macwhisper.com), it is a fantastic app from prolific indie developer Jordi Bruin.\n\nIt lets users quickly and easily transcribe audio, video, meetings, and system audio directly on their Macs using locally run AI models, including OpenAI’s Whisper and Nvidia’s lightning-fast Parakeet.\n\nI use it every day for certain parts of my podcast pre- and post-production workflow, and I can’t praise it enough.\n\nSince launching MacWhisper in 2023, Bruin has steadily expanded its capabilities, streamlined its workflows, and delivered welcome performance improvements.\n\nMacWhisper 14 continues that work with a redesigned editor, faster performance, and several other tweaks.\n\nHere’s Bruin on the update:\n\nWe just released version 14.0 and the biggest change is the new Editor View. You can now edit your transcript directly in the main transcript screen, add paragraphs more easily, reassign speakers faster, favorite useful parts of a transcript, and work with much better performance overall.\n\nBruin says that, based on early feedback, MacWhisper 14.1 has already shipped with a number of fixes and refinements for the new editor. Version 14.1 also added Gladia as a new cloud transcription provider, allowing users to transcribe with their own Gladia API key.\n\nMacWhisper 14 also includes:\n\n- A redesigned AI services screen that’s clearer and easier to use\n- Updated AI models for popular providers\n- Better playback when working with multiple open transcripts\n- Improved transcript windows, including better Cmd+A behavior and instant editor interaction\n- Deepgram improvements, including EU/US region selection, filler word controls, and expanded Nova 3 language support\n- Cloud transcription uploads that no longer load entire files into memory\n- Fixes for menu bar position, audio/video scrub syncing, idle CPU usage, and meeting recording edge cases\n\nMacWhisper Pro users can update to version 14 at no additional cost.
