# Lumen taps Amdocs to modernize order management on AWS > Source: > Published: 2026-08-07 12:02:00+00:00 Lumen enlisted Amdocs to bolster its back-office systems to support scaling its multicloud networking pivot. The partnership sees Amdocs deploy its aOS agentic operating system to migrate and modernize Lumen's enterprise service orchestration and order management platform onto Amazon Web Services (AWS). The partnership expands the pair’s existing relationship, with Amdocs having helped Lumen move similar workloads onto Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. “By expanding our multicloud strategy and modernizing our core service orchestration platform, we are building a more agile, resilient and AI-ready foundation that enables us to deliver greater value to our customers while driving future innovation and accelerating the modernization of a critical service orchestration platform that supports our business operations,” Lumen CIO Chad Naeger explained. Lumen recently [exited the copper business](https://www.datacenterdynamics.com/en/news/att-completes-575bn-acquisition-of-lumens-mass-market-fiber-business/) and is now pushing into network-as-a-service (NaaS) to cater more to hyperscalers and data center providers – an effort bolstered by its recent [acquisition of Alkira](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/alkira-ceo-on-lumen-deal-lightning-fast-acquisition-made-sense-over-ipo/). The firm’s multicloud shift sees it opt for agility and operational efficiency, claiming the shift will help it improve cycle times and accelerate time-to-market for new services. “By extending our work to another mission-critical platform on AWS and leveraging modernization agents to accelerate migration, we’re able to focus on reducing delivery risks, help Lumen realize business outcomes faster, and establish a scalable foundation for continued innovation,” Anthony Goonetilleke, group president of technology and head of strategy at Amdocs, noted. Lumen recently posted [$2.8 billion](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/lumen-q2-financials-pitch-naas-satellite-as-future-networks-as-old-ones-keep-hyperscale-appeal/) in second quarter (Q2) revenues, which was a 9% year-over-year drop, however, evenues for its optical wavelength services soared nearly 18% and accounted for 53% of Lumen's total business revenue.
