# Ledger taps former Fireblocks executive to lead security and technology

The hardware wallet maker consolidates security and technology leadership under one executive as AI-driven crypto hacks surge across the industry.

Ledger has named Oded Blatman, the former CIO and CISO of Fireblocks, as its new chief information officer and chief security officer. Blatman will report to Ledger Chairman and CEO Pascal Gauthier.

His responsibilities will span cyber and infrastructure security, product security, the Ledger Donjon, physical security, security operations, enterprise risk management and internal IT. Ledger said combining the CIO and CSO roles reflects its view that technology and security are becoming inseparable as tokenization, AI agents and institutional adoption of digital assets accelerate.

Blatman spent five years at Fireblocks, where he led global security and enterprise technology during the company’s international expansion. Before joining Fireblocks, he was global CISO at Bank Hapoalim and CIO and CISO at ClickSoftware, where he oversaw security during its acquisition by [Salesforce](https://cryptobriefing.com/markets/salesforce/).

Ledger said the threat environment is shifting as attackers use AI-generated phishing, deepfakes and autonomous systems to increase the speed and scale of attacks. The company argued that protecting high-value digital assets requires hardware-backed security alongside software protections and resilient operations.

Blatman’s appointment comes ahead of Ledger OP3N on Oct. 15, where the company plans to make major announcements. Ledger said his arrival strengthens its security leadership as it expands its Ledger Enterprise offering and focuses on institutional-grade security.
