Agent Lichfields said an outline planning application will soon be submitted to Walsall Council which will include open space provision with land allocated for health and community use. Access to the new estate would be gained from Chester Road. Although green belt, the 27 hectare site is among some of the larger plots put forward by Walsall Council in the draft local plan. In the document which guides prospective developers towards preferred sites for housing, the council said the it could accommodate 430 homes. Three other neighbouring sites, predominantly green belt, have also been allocated for over 400 homes by the council. Already nearby are two large housing developments which are yet to be determined by Walsall Council – a full planning application for 500 homes off Bosty Lane and an outline planning application for a new neighbourhood of 850 homes off Queslett Road.
