Korean, Mexican FMs discuss cooperation in AI, middle-power solidarity

South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun met with Mexican counterpart Roberto Velasco in Seoul on Monday to discuss expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, energy security, and other areas, as bilateral ties grow more important amid global economic uncertainty. Cho called for strengthening institutional foundations for trade and investment and diversifying cooperation into AI, space, education, and defense, while Velasco stressed middle-power solidarity in building a more inclusive international order. The meeting also noted President Lee Jae Myung's acceptance of an invitation from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to visit Mexico.
