Keysight 400GE release keeps security and mega traffic flows in sight

Keysight Technologies launched the APS-ONE-400, a modular network cybersecurity test platform delivering 400 Gb/s Layer 4-7 throughput and 380 Gb/s encrypted TLS throughput, designed to handle elephant flows from AI workloads. The system supports post-quantum cryptography and zero trust testing, and can scale to 16 Tb/s in hyperscale testbeds for data centers and service providers.

Keysight Technologies launched a modular network cybersecurity test platform to tackle elephant flow traffic.

Part of Keysight’s APS-100/400-gigabit Ethernet (GE) hardware line, the APS-ONE-400 delivers 400 gigabits per second (Gb/s) Layer 4-7 throughput; 380 Gb/s of hardware-accelerated encrypted transport layer security (TLS) throughput; and 95 Gb/s elephant flow throughput to tackle the large and long-lasting data transfers becoming increasingly associated with AI.

The system supports post-quantum cryptography-encrypted traffic and zero trust network access (ZTNA) testing capabilities, as well as 100/25/10GE network speeds.

Keysight added the one rack unit (RU) system can be deployed as a stand-alone device or integrated with other devices from the APS-100/400GE line. For example, with the APS-M8400 appliance or APS-M1010 management controller, Keysight claimed the APS-ONE-400 enables hyperscale testbeds that emulate the unwieldy demands of data center and service provider environments. This arrangement can generate up to 16 terabits per second (Tb/s) of Layer 4-7 traffic; 20 billion concurrent connections; 15 Tb/s of TLS traffic, and 25 million TLS connections per second.

The firm said the release is built for network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), service providers, and data center operators looking to validate network-demanding scenarios without investing in multiple specialized testing tools.

"The exponential growth of data transfers and bandwidth demands generated by AI and machine learning workloads is putting unprecedented strain on data center, service provider, and enterprise network infrastructures," said Ram Periakaruppan, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Network Test and Security Solutions.

The APS-ONE-400 release follows recent additions to Keysight's 1.6 Tb/s (1.6T) end-to-end optical and electrical solutions portfolio designed to aid validation of next-generation electrical and optical interconnects for AI-centric data centers.
