Jeff Dean Leaving Google Jeff Dean, Google's chief scientist and a key figure in the development of TensorFlow and other AI technologies, announced he is leaving Google to co-found Discovery Loop, a Public Benefit Corporation aimed at automating machine learning, science, and engineering. Dean will be joined by longtime collaborators Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le, who together have worked for 14 to 30 years on some of the world's most used products and AI models. The new company will initially focus on ML research and engineering, with plans to hire a founding team and secure office space.
