Hey so I just ordered an MI100 on eBay to replace my Instinct MI50 32GB in my homelab server running Arch Linux. However, no matter what I tried, the card doesn’t seem to show up in lspci and does not seem to enumerate as far as I can tell. Am I missing something or did I just spend a thousand dollars on a broken card? The system is an X470 Taichi (latest BIOS), 3700X CPU, 64GB of ECC RAM, and a 6700XT for video output. A few enterprise drives for bulk storage and the OS is on an NVMe. I tried swapping the two video card slots, checking connectors, making sure 4G decode and ReBAR were enabled, and all that good stuff—no luck getting it to show up.

if anyone knows about any hardware requirements or trouble shooting steps I can take that would be great, or even of where I might look

Well still not 100% sure but after building a test bench with no other pcie devices I and it not showing in lspci I think I am just stuck making payments on a dead card. that really sets back my ai plans I am not really made of money but all well

ugh, that sucks. hopefully someone with more knowledge can help.

have you tried using claude code to diagnose the issue? i’ve had a lot of success with it helping me diagnose hardware issues to get my linux boxes working smoothly.
