You’re not alone with many struggling to connect to Anthropic’s tools during an hours-long outage. Reports of issues on [Downdetector](https://downdetector.com/status/claude-ai/) began at 12:30 a.m. ET on Aug. 24 and continued for an hour before Anthropic [officially acknowledged](https://status.claude.com/) an issue. An update at 1:27 a.m. ET saw Anthropic say the issue caused "elevated errors on requests to Claude Mythos 5, Claude Fable 5, Claude Opus 5, and other Claude models." At 3:47 a.m. ET, Anthropic said, "At this time, we have seen errors stabilize on Opus 5 and Fable 5, and are working to fully resolve success rates on all affected models. We will provide an update as soon as possible." That's the latest we've heard from Anthropic, but failure rates reported through Downdetector are dropping, suggesting more people are able to connect to the correct tools. If you continue to see issues, you will have to await further news from Anthropic. We've yet to find out exactly what caused this issue, but we expect to hear from the artificial intelligence tool's creator later to learn the cause of this latest outage. Anthropic also uses its status page to boast about its outage stats, claiming 99.29% uptime for claude.ai tools over the last 60 days. A large percentage of its included downtime comes from the last few hours, although it routinely sees small pockets of issues that cause minor outages that don't usually last this long.
