{"slug": "introducing-zed-for-business", "title": "Introducing Zed for Business", "summary": "Zed launched Zed for Business, a $30 per seat per month plan that gives organizations admin controls over AI privacy, model usage, and collaboration features. The plan disables prompt sharing and edit prediction training by default at the org level, and allows administrators to set global token spend limits or let teams bring their own AI provider keys. The release aims to unblock enterprise adoption, though it does not yet include SSO, SCIM, or SOC 2 certification.", "body_md": "Today we're launching [Zed for Business](/business).\nTeams like Mercury and Ramp are already using it to roll out Zed across their organizations, and we're excited to share this with all Zed users.\n\nZed for Business is generally available at $30 per seat, per month. If you've wanted to use Zed at work but couldn't get it approved, we're here to help you get unblocked.\n\n[Enforce privacy controls org-wide](#enforce-privacy-controls-org-wide)\n\nZed already doesn't store prompts or train on your code, **regardless of your plan**, unless you explicitly share with us or opt in to training.\nBut we hear from users that their security teams need guarantees that no engineer on the team can accidentally opt in to something they shouldn't.\n\nZed for Business gives you that guarantee.\n[Prompt sharing](https://zed.dev/docs/ai/ai-improvement#ai-feedback-with-ratings) and [Edit Prediction training](https://zed.dev/docs/ai/ai-improvement#training-data-opt-in-for-open-source-projects) are off by default at the org level, and individual engineers can't override those settings.\n\n[Control what your team uses](#control-what-your-team-uses)\n\nAdministrators can disable Zed-hosted models, Edit Predictions, and [collaboration features](https://zed.dev/docs/collaboration/overview) org-wide.\nIf a feature isn't approved for your environment, you can turn it off for everyone, instead of relying on individual engineers to abide by your org's policies. For teams using Zed-hosted models, administrators can set global token spend limits to cap usage.\n\n[Bring your own keys or use ours](#bring-your-own-keys-or-use-ours)\n\nBusiness plans don't include bundled AI credits. We heard from many beta customers that have existing AI contracts or preferred vendors, and don't want to pay for credits they wouldn't use. Many of our competitors require using their hosted AI, but we're happy to let you use AI however it makes the most financial sense for your business.\n\nIf your team wants Zed-hosted AI, it's [billed at provider cost plus 10%](/blog/pricing-change-llm-usage-is-now-token-based), and includes [ZDR agreements with our AI providers](https://zed.dev/docs/ai/ai-improvement#data-retention-and-training) plus higher rate limits than most teams get from direct contracts.\n\nIf your organization already has contracts with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or AWS, bring your own keys and keep that spend with your existing vendors, at no extra charge.\n\n[What's not included yet](#whats-not-included-yet)\n\nIf your company requires SSO or SOC 2 before approving new tools, this release won't unblock you.\nWe're working on SAML/OIDC, SCIM, and SOC 2 certification now.\n[Reach out](/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection#b9cad8d5dccaf9c3dcdd97dddccf) and we'll keep you posted as these ship.\n\n[Get started](#get-started)\n\nYou can [set up Zed for Business](https://dashboard.zed.dev/create-organization) today.\nFor contracts of 25+ seats and invoice billing, [contact us](/pricing/contact).\n\n### Related Posts\n\nCheck out similar blogs from the Zed team.\n\n### Looking for a better editor?\n\nYou can try Zed today on macOS, Windows, or Linux.
