Introducing Mintlify Base Mintlify launched Mintlify Base in beta, an internal-knowledge workspace built on the same platform as Mintlify Docs where people and agents share specs, runbooks, and onboarding pages. Base includes a built-in MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or in-house agents read from one source of truth, plus an Admin MCP at mcp.mintlify.com that grants those agents write access to edit pages, restructure navigation, and open pull requests; Mintlify said agents already account for more than three-quarters of traffic to the docs it hosts. Mintlify cited a controlled experiment with a large engineering team using Claude Code on monorepos in which structured Markdown used about half the tokens and made agents 64% more precise. David Isquick Product Marketing Share this article David Isquick Product Marketing Share this article Base is now in beta. It's a workspace where people and agents work from the same specs, runbooks, and onboarding pages, kept current as your work changes. We already run Mintlify's own internal knowledge on it. This post was written, edited, and rewritten using Base. Base runs on the same platform that powers Mintlify Docs, built for internal knowledge. The same editor, agents, and MCP server that serve your customers and their agents now serve your team and its agents. Agents read your internal knowledge too agents-read-your-internal-knowledge-too Agents already account for more than three-quarters https://www.mintlify.com/data of the traffic to the docs we host. The agents your team uses read internal pages the same way, and they act on whatever context they're given https://www.mintlify.com/blog/context-for-agents . When a runbook is out of date, the agent repeats the old answer with confidence, and someone on your team spends the afternoon cleaning it up. Most internal sites were built for people reading pages, with AI search added later. Search can find a page, but it can't fix one that's wrong. What you can do in Base what-you-can-do-in-base Base organizes knowledge into Personal pages for drafts you can share when they're ready, a Shared with me view for pages teammates send you, and a Teamspace for company-wide knowledge organized by folders. Write with an agent in the editor write-with-an-agent-in-the-editor Start from an idea, and an agent helps you draft, develop, and refine the page. Teammates can contribute from the web editor, the CLI, or their IDE, or hand the work to Mintlify Agent https://www.mintlify.com/docs/agent from the dashboard or Slack. Teammates review pages with comments and suggestions. Just tag Mintlify Agent in a comment on a section, the same way you'd tag a teammate. The agent edits the page without you leaving the conversation. Give the agent your style guide, review checklist, or page templates once as a skill https://www.mintlify.com/docs/editor/agent skills , and it follows them on every page. Teamspace is backed by Git, so every change has history, but edits merge automatically. Nobody has to open or review a pull request to update a page. Connect every agent through MCP connect-every-agent-through-mcp Base includes a built-in MCP server https://mintlify.com/docs/ai/model-context-protocol , so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or your in-house agents all read from the same source of truth. Mintlify also ships an Admin MCP https://mcp.mintlify.com that gives those same agents write access: they can edit pages, restructure navigation, open pull requests, and manage settings. Pages are stored as Markdown files in a filesystem, the format agents already know how to search and navigate. In a controlled experiment we ran with a large engineering team using Claude Code on monorepos, structured Markdown used about half the tokens and made agents 64% more precise https://www.mintlify.com/blog/structured-docs-coding-agents . Turn dense text into shareable interactive pages turn-dense-text-into-shareable-interactive-pages Base turns long pages into editable, interactive pages with graphics, tables, and filters your team can scan at a glance. Pages support React components, and Mintlify Agent can create visual elements for you, including images, videos, Mermaid diagrams, and visualizations. Share pages internally with your team or externally as read-only links. Coming soon: Page verification coming-soon-page-verification Soon, Base will tell you which pages are still right. Mark a page as verified and set an expiration date, so it comes up for review again before it goes stale. If a page is wrong or out of date, mark it as outdated or not verified for a set period of time. Readers can see who last verified a page, so they know whether to trust it. Get started get-started Base is in beta, and any team can sign up. Parts of it will change as we build with early teams. Knowledge needs the same care engineers give code: tracked, reviewed, and kept current by agents.
