Mention \"@Kapwing\" to leverage the best AI models like Seedance 2.5 and more.\n\nThis week, we introduced a new [Kapwing in Slack integration](https://slack.com/oauth?client_id=166698629059.12172667767442&scope=app_mentions%3Aread%2Cchat%3Awrite%2Cchannels%3Ahistory%2Cgroups%3Ahistory%2Cim%3Ahistory%2Cmpim%3Ahistory%2Cfiles%3Aread%2Cusers%3Aread%2Creactions%3Awrite&user_scope=&redirect_uri=&state=&granular_bot_scope=1&single_channel=0&install_redirect=&tracked=1&user_default=0&team=&original_team=&ref=kapwing.com). Set it up to create collaboratively with your team, right from Slack. \n\nKapwing is the first Slack app to allow for Seedance 2.5 video generation from within Slack\n\nThe Slack integration is a new way to use [Kapwing](https://www.kapwing.com/?ref=kapwing.com) and create collaboratively with your [team](https://www.kapwing.com/teams?ref=kapwing.com). In this blog post, I'll describe why we built it and how to use it.\n\n## How to Add the Kapwing Slack App\n\nYou will need to ensure that you have permissions to install a Slack app into your workspace. Ask your company admins for help if you're not able to.\n\nFollow these steps:\n\n1. Click on [this link](https://slack.com/oauth?client_id=166698629059.12172667767442&scope=app_mentions%3Aread%2Cchat%3Awrite%2Cchannels%3Ahistory%2Cgroups%3Ahistory%2Cim%3Ahistory%2Cmpim%3Ahistory%2Cfiles%3Aread%2Cusers%3Aread%2Creactions%3Awrite&user_scope=&redirect_uri=&state=&granular_bot_scope=1&single_channel=0&install_redirect=&tracked=1&user_default=0&team=&original_team=&ref=kapwing.com) to see and install the Kapwing Slack App in your Slack Workspace (Slack's official app approval is still pending as we have recently launched).\n2. Mention Kapwing by typing \"@Kapwing\" and asking for an edit or generation\n3. Connect: Authenticate or create an account on Kapwing. If you have multiple Kapwing teams, choose the Workspace that you want to connect to. This is where your assets and projects from Slack will be backed up. Generative tool calls will deduct from that Workspace's AI Credits pool.\n\nOnce you mention Kapwing in a Slack conversation, it will react with an emoji to your message and send you a URL to the in-progress conversation. Once it has a plan, approve the credits expense before the agent continues editing. When the output is done generating, you'll get a link to the final result.\n\nOpen the Kapwing chat at any time to add more assets, iterate, interrupt, review errors, and ask questions of the Kai editing agent. You can also see the in-progress chat within Kapwing AI from the homepage.\n\n## What can you use the Kapwing Slack App for?\n\nUse the Kapwing Slack integration to edit and [generate](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/image-generator?ref=kapwing.com) videos, images, and GIFs from a Slack channel. Media uploaded to Slack will be attached to the Kapwing [editing agent](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/video-assistant?ref=kapwing.com). Here are a few example prompts:\n\n- *\"@Kapwing* Edit these videos together for social media. Remove silences, bad takes, and filler words\"\n- *\"@Kapwing* add yellow subtitles on videos\"\n- *\"@Kapwing* make a poster for the office party, including the details for date*and time\"*\n- *\"@Kapwing* combine these 5 images into a[montage](https://www.kapwing.com/tools/make/video/montage?ref=kapwing.com) \"\n- *\"@Kapwing* dub this video into French\"\n\n### Access the best generative models from within Slack conversations\n\nUsing the Kapwing Slack App, generate images, video and audio directly from a Slack thread. This allows you to collaboratively gather assets and get feedback before assembling a video with AI models like [Seedance 2.5](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/models/seedance/2.5?ref=kapwing.com), [GPT Image 2](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/models/chatgpt-image?ref=kapwing.com), or [MiniMax H3](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/models/minimax/h3?ref=kapwing.com). \n\nThe Kapwing Slack integration using AI Credits from your existing Kapwing workspace, so you do not need another subscription. For more realistic results, attach reference images, video, or audio to further clarify the generative prompt.\n\n### Quick Editing, In Context\n\nWant to add [subtitles](https://www.kapwing.com/subtitles?ref=kapwing.com) on a video? [Cut down](https://www.kapwing.com/tools/trim?ref=kapwing.com) a video to a certain length? [Remove silences](https://www.kapwing.com/tools/audio-editor/silence-remover?ref=kapwing.com)? Add a logo or [background music](https://www.kapwing.com/tools/add-audio?ref=kapwing.com)?\n\nWe designed the Kapwing Slack integration for social media managers, customer-facing service teams, marketers, and creators [partnerships](https://www.kapwing.com/partnerships?ref=kapwing.com) leads who consistently handle image and video assets. \n\nJust upload the video, image, or audio that needs editing and ask @Kapwing for what you need. Through Kapwing's conversational video editor called [Kai](https://www.kapwing.com/kai?ref=kapwing.com), it will assemble the cut for you. Use natural language to edit your video rather than learning another editing program. Now, editing is as easy as asking a colleague for help.\n\nFor multilingual teams, try translating or [dubbing](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/dubbing?ref=kapwing.com) videos from one language to another when sharing with colleagues. \n\nKapwing will return the edited video to you in Slack, sending emoji reactions and notifications to let you know when it is done. You can choose to open the link to make final tweaks.\n\n### Collaborate with others\n\nSlack is a hub where teams get work done, and Kapwing is a [collaborative video editor](https://www.kapwing.com/video-editor/collaboration?ref=kapwing.com) for creative teams. When you mention Kapwing and kick off a task with the Kapwing Slack app, all of the uploads and messages in a Slack thread will be uploaded to Kapwing, so it's all useable for the AI editing and generation agent. Try using Kapwing to make videos or images that require input from multiple people, like a happy birthday montage for your colleague or a generative media piece with an intro from your designer, by tagging in Kapwing after you've gathered the uploads in one thread 🧵.\n\nUsing Kapwing in Slack makes your prompts, generations, and edits visible to colleagues. This is the easiest way to get feedback and input from others, plus avoid duplicate work.\n\nThe Kapwing Slack integration also helps if you want to visualize some of the text information you write up in Slack. Turn a set of details into a fun promotional [poster](https://www.kapwing.com/templates/poster?ref=kapwing.com), make a [chart](https://www.kapwing.com/templates/chart?ref=kapwing.com) with data from an agent, or [mock up](https://www.kapwing.com/explore/iphone-16-mockup-template?ref=kapwing.com) a feature idea into a low-fi design. With [generative media](https://www.kapwing.com/ai/overview?ref=kapwing.com) APIs built in, you can experiment with communicating your ideas visually.\n\nThanks for trying it out! Please let us know on [X @KapwingApp](https://x.com/KapwingApp?ref=kapwing.com) or our Facebook page what you're using the Kapwing Slack app for and your feedback about the product. We're looking forward to publishing the app in the Slack marketplace soon, once 10 teams have installed the app in Slack.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/introducing-kapwing-in-slack", "canonical_source": "https://www.kapwing.com/blog/introducing-kapwing-in-slack/", "published_at": "2026-10-01 22:50:31+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-10-01 23:15:09.797951+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-products", "generative-ai", "ai-tools", "ai-agents"], "entities": ["Kapwing", "Slack", "Seedance 2.5", "GPT Image 2", "Kai"], "also_reported_by": [], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/introducing-kapwing-in-slack", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/introducing-kapwing-in-slack.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/introducing-kapwing-in-slack.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/introducing-kapwing-in-slack.jsonld"}}
