The time that we’ve been waiting for is here, Prime Day is in full swing, and right now is one of the best times of the year to put together or upgrade your gaming PC. We came across the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus on sale at its lowest price ever of $264.99, following a tempting 26% price cut. This is right now the best processor from Intel, as it costs less than the Core Ultra 9 285K but outperforms it in every aspect.
Keep in mind that this offer is only for Prime members, but given its value and performance, there is finally a good reason to opt for the LGA 1851 platform. Besides that, it also comes with a free game for which you’ll receive an email with a redemption code 2 business days after this processor ships. It isn’t clear which game it is, but a gift is a gift.

Reasons to Buy
It has solid gaming performance and productivity
Outperforms the 285K
Comes with a free game
Reasons to Avoid
The gaming performance is still no where near Ryzen offerings
Only works with DDR5 RAM and you’ll need a new motherboard as well
What made this CPU stand out
Drives better performance than the 285K at a lower cost
The main selling point of this processor is that it costs less than the Core Ultra 9 285K and provides better value for money and performance. It isn’t like that the 285K is being completely dominated, as it takes home some victories, but the competition is tooth and nail, and there isn’t a big difference that would warrant the 285K over the 270K Plus. So, at worst, you’ll get the same performance or a smidge below that, but at a significantly cheaper rate. Intel effectively eliminated the need for people to go for the 285K with the launch of this processor.

Does a better job of bridging the gaming gap with AMD
Another aspect that drove this processor in terms of popularity is that it delivers better gaming performance than its family competitor. This was the biggest issue with their flagship CPU, but now that the 270K Plus is on the market, the scale is much more balanced when it comes to the gaming performance and productivity ratio. While AMD still does that much better, this is a step in the right direction for Team Blue.
Provides a good reason to jump to the LGA 1851 platform
Many chose to stick with their LGA 1700 setups as there was no good reason to jump to the newer offerings, especially due to the severe lack of generational gaming performance uplift. However, now the playing field has changed, and you don’t have to sacrifice gaming performance for strong productivity as the 270K Plus brings all of this and more to the table.
