Coastline Index is a narrow GTA VI database, but under the hood it behaves more like a data product than a fan wiki.
One piece that developers tend to care about is our public “Data Update Log”.
What it records
• Every change to core GTA 6 entities (release, platforms, editions, characters, Leonida map info)
• The exact Rockstar source behind that change (Newswire URL, support article, trailer timestamp)
• A timestamped note explaining what was added, removed or corrected
Why we bothered
• Traceability: anyone can see why a fact changed instead of trusting silent edits
• Safer grounding for AI: retrieval systems can prefer entries with clear provenance
• Easier diffing: downstream consumers can poll the log instead of scraping full pages
