ILTACON News Round-Up Part 2, Litigation: LawToolBox, Opus 2, Clarra, Eve

At ILTACON 2026, Opus 2 introduced Opus 2 Ingenuity, an agentic AI framework built into its litigation platform that leverages nearly 11 million monthly insights to enhance AI accuracy and productivity, while LawToolBox launched LawToolBox MCP for Microsoft 365 and Claude, a connector with 70 tools linking legal AI tools to matter data in Microsoft 365.

Last week’s ILTACON, the annual conference of the International Legal Technology Association, brought what may have been the busiest news cycle I can remember for this conference, with a torrent of product announcements dominated by two themes: agentic AI and the Model Context Protocol.

I have already covered the conference and several of the week’s biggest stories – including LexisNexis’s Legal Intelligence Engine, Thomson Reuters’ launch of its Thomson LLM, and Clio’s hiring of Pablo Arredondo to lead a new judiciary initiative. Now, as I dig out from a hectic week, I am rounding up here other notable announcements from the conference.

I’ll do this in four parts:

[Part 1: E-Discovery](https://www.lawnext.com/2026/09/iltacon-news-round-up-part-1-e-discovery-disco-everlaw-nuix-relativity-reveal.html).- Part 2: Litigation.
- Part 3: Documents, Data and AI.
- Part 4: The Business of Law

This is part 2, litigation.

Opus 2 Introduces Ingenuity, Its Agentic AI Framework

** **Opus 2 introduced Opus 2 Ingenuity, an agentic AI framework built into its litigation platform.

The company stresses that Ingenuity is not a new product but rather an evolution of how its AI recognizes and understands the context of a matter based on how legal teams interact with documents, define relationships between information, and manage workflows.

These insights — nearly 11 million of them created across the platform each month, the company says — are generated automatically as teams build case strategy in Opus 2, and give Ingenuity’s AI layers and specialty agents a stronger foundation for surfacing and acting on intelligence across workflows from case assessment through hearing.

“AI is only as effective as the information it can understand,” said Greg Blackman, CEO of Opus 2. “Ingenuity unlocks AI through a deeper understanding of the insights inside our platform – delivering productivity, cost-efficiency, quality, security, and other valuable benefits across any law firm.”

The company says that the matter intelligence powering Ingenuity results in higher quality AI outputs that are more accurate, making AI-driven work more dependable, reducing risks associated with unsupported conclusions, enabling teams to spend more time on strategy and less time on validation, and more efficiently balancing AI compute, potentially lowering costs.

For a recent walk-through of Opus 2, see this video: LawToolBox Launches MCP Connecting Legal AI to Matter Data in Microsoft 365

LawToolBox announced LawToolBox MCP for Microsoft 365 and Claude, which connects the legal AI tools customers already use — including M365 Copilot, CoCounsel, Harvey, Legora, Protégé, Claude, and ChatGPT — to the matter-specific context that LawToolBox organizes in Matter Containers within Microsoft 365.

LawToolBox is a legal SaaS platform that lives inside each legal organization’s M365 account and transforms Outlook, Word, SharePoint and M365 Teams into a legal solution.

Its MCP connector includes 70 tools that leverage the M365 data in the LawToolBox matter containers, the applicable laws and regulations, and the legal team’s strategic analysis, all amplified with LLMs and saved to containers.

LawToolBox uses each organization’s CRM, DMS or homegrown database as the system of record to create AI-ready client matter data containers in their M365 that adhere to data governance and ethical walls.

Clarra Introduces Case Management MCP Server for Claude

Litigation case management company Clarra introduced what it calls the most comprehensive legal case management MCP server for Claude, giving AI tools meaningful access to case information without creating another disconnected system.

Through the integration, the company said, legal teams can:

  • Generate litigation briefs, matter summaries, chronologies, and demand letters.
  • Analyze deposition transcripts, medical records, and other case materials.
  • Prepare case strategies, deposition outlines, and litigation analyses.
  • Create staffing, budgeting and billing dashboards, and board reporting using live matter data.
  • Update matters, create tasks, and configure workflows using agentic AI.

“Legal teams shouldn’t have to purchase a different AI application for every task,” said Keao Caindec, CEO of Clarra. “By connecting Claude directly to Clarra, organizations can leverage one of the world’s most capable AI platforms to generate insights, draft legal work product, and automate operational tasks without leaving the platform.”

Eve Brings Analyst and Atlas to General Availability

Eve, the AI platform for plaintiff firms valued at more than $1 billion after its Series B, announced the general availability of two capabilities.

Analyst lets firm leaders ask any performance question — such as why Q3 settlement pace is behind — in plain English and get an instant answer.

Law firms also get a saved dashboard they can visit at any time that shows analytics such as settlement pacing, case loads, attorney performance, and more.

Atlas makes a law firm’s data all real-time by structuring every record, bill and communication the moment it hits the firm, so Analyst is never working from stale data, the company says.

Atlas automatically extracts records, bills and communications into a live case file, so the numbers Analyst reports come from work Eve already did, not data someone had to enter twice.

Atlas is available now for personal injury firms, with the same foundation extending to more practice areas as it matures.
