I Spent My National Day Holiday Building an AI Tesla Wrap Generator A developer shipped version 1.5.0 of Tesla Wrap Gallery (teslawrap.io), a free gallery and designer for Tesla Paint Shop digital wraps, adding one-click AI generation that produces correctly oriented artwork with leak-free seams by generating directly against the Paint Shop UV spec rather than relying on generic image models. The update also includes an iOS app, Tes Wraps - AI 3D Design, though the developer notes Tesla's next software version may block custom wraps in China, potentially eliminating the domestic market. China's National Day holiday is seven days long. Most people travel. I stayed home and shipped the biggest update my app has ever had. I build Tesla Wrap Gallery teslawrap.io https://teslawrap.io — a free online gallery and designer for Tesla Paint Shop wraps. Quick clarification because it confuses everyone: these are digital wraps that show on your car's touchscreen and 3D vehicle display, not physical vinyl. Tesla's Paint Shop feature lets owners load custom wrap images onto the car via the Tesla app or a USB stick. Designers making these wraps today mostly wrestle with Photoshop or generic design tools: manually mapping artwork onto Tesla's UV templates, fixing seams by hand, guessing export settings, then finding out the car silently rejects the file. Generic AI image generators aren't much better — they get the orientation wrong, happily paint patterns across the windows and headlights non-paint areas , and every fix costs you another five rounds of prompting. So I built a purpose-built tool instead. The v1.5.0 update I just shipped does the thing I'm proudest of: one-click AI generation where the orientation comes out correct and the seams don't leak, by construction — because it generates directly against the Paint Shop UV spec instead of hoping a generic model gets lucky. The toolbox around it: Here's the part that stung: right after I finished this update, I heard that Tesla's next software version may block custom wraps in China altogether. Seven days of work, and the domestic market might evaporate. But the tool exists, it works, and owners outside China can still use it. So I'm sharing it anyway. It's free to browse and download, no signup. There's also an iOS app, Tes Wraps - AI 3D Design , on the App Store. If you've fought with UV seams or AI orientation fails before, I'd love to hear about it.
