I Didn't Touch My Site for a Month. Traffic Was Stable — Then It Suddenly Dropped

An engineer reported that traffic to their AI project, Vivify Face Swap, remained stable for a month before suddenly dropping around August 30, despite no changes to the product or SEO. The developer is investigating whether the decline stems from search rankings, referral traffic, seasonality, or other external factors.

I hadn’t really touched one of my AI projects, Vivify Face Swap, for about a month.

No major updates, no new campaigns, no big SEO changes.

Traffic stayed surprisingly stable the whole time.

Then around August 30, it suddenly dropped.

That was the interesting part for me.

Nothing obvious changed on the product side, so now I’m trying to figure out whether this came from search rankings, referral traffic, seasonality, or something else entirely.

It’s a good reminder that “I changed nothing” doesn’t mean nothing changed around your website.

Sometimes the traffic chart moves before you even know what happened.
