I Built TraceFix — An AI-Powered Error Debugging Workspace for Developers A developer has built TraceFix, an AI-powered debugging workspace that combines an error-search interface with structured explanations, root-cause analysis, and fix recommendations. The application uses a zero-trust API architecture with Clerk authentication, subscription verification, rate limiting, and server-side Google Gemini integration, ensuring the API key never reaches the browser. TraceFix is scheduled to launch on August 16, 2026, and future iterations aim to integrate real-world developer knowledge sources like Stack Overflow and GitHub Issues. Debugging often starts with the same frustrating workflow: Copy error → open Google → search Stack Overflow → inspect five different answers → try three fixes → repeat. So I built TraceFix , a developer-focused web application designed to make that process much faster. TraceFix combines an error-search interface with an AI workspace where developers can paste compiler errors, runtime exceptions, stack traces, or broken code and get a structured explanation of what went wrong and how to fix it. Security was a major part of the project The API layer validates the Clerk session before processing requests, checks subscription state server-side, applies rate limiting, and only then communicates with Gemini. Stripe webhook signatures are verified using the raw request body before subscription state is updated. What's next?
