The hard part was taste.", "summary": "A developer built Marquee, a tool that turns a sentence into a designed landing page or multi-page site, and found that avoiding generic \"AI slop\" aesthetics was the hardest part of the project. The approach pairs the generator with 103 researched design patterns and a review browser that screenshots, critiques and fixes each page for up to three rounds before shipping. Pricing starts with a free first page, then $24/mo Pro and $79/mo Studio.", "body_md": "I wanted to build something that doesn't produce AI slop. Marquee turns a sentence into a designed landing page or multi-page site.\n\nThe first version took about a day. Making the pages not look like AI took the rest of the week.\n\nWhat worked: giving the generator real design patterns (103 of them, researched from Mobbin, plus a design reference library), and having a review browser screenshot each page, critique it and fix it, up to three rounds, before it ships. What broke: the build time limit on a free hosting plan, and an empty API balance during testing, which took builds down until I topped it up.\n\nPricing: first page free, Pro $24/mo, Studio $79/mo.\n\nAI landing pages that don't look like AI.
