I found myself typing the same prompts into ChatGPT and Claude over and over. Rewording them slightly each time. Losing track of which version worked.
So I built Promptbar — a Chrome extension that lets you save your own prompts and insert any of them into any text box on any page by typing //.
How it works:

You can use {{variables}} inside a prompt, so one saved template covers many variations without editing it each time.
Everything is stored locally. No account, no sign-up, no cloud, no AI service of its own — it only inserts text you wrote.
One thing to know upfront: it needs broad host permissions to make the // trigger work on any page. That's a real trade-off. Nothing is collected or transmitted — the data never leaves your browser — but I know that's the first question, so I'm answering it here.
