I built AI Screen Recorder to fix exactly that. It's a free, open-source tool that records your screen AND auto-edits the result — cropping active regions, adding smart transitions, and highlighting clicks automatically.
Most tools in this space are expensive ($15-30/month) and platform-locked. Screen Studio, for example, charges $29/mo and only works on Mac. I believe great recording tools should be free and available everywhere. That's why the entire project is MIT-licensed and hosted on Vercel + GitHub Pages — zero cost to run, zero cost to use.
