Claude Code got mods. A mod is a small plugin that hooks into the app. It can draw a line above the prompt, open a pane, or hold a command before it runs.

I started with one and kept going. Now there are 20 in one repo: [hamzafer/claude-code-mods](https://github.com/hamzafer/claude-code-mods).

Here are the ones I keep on.

I used to run `/context` again and again. Now the window sits above the prompt as one bar. Each category gets its own color: system prompt, tools, MCP, skills, messages. It also marks where auto-compact starts.

I run Codex as a second reviewer. It works in the background, so I never knew if it was alive. review-watch gives each review one line: the model, what it reviews, the time, and the last thing it printed. When it ends, a toast shows the findings.

It holds `rm -r`, force pushes and database migrations. It shows what would be deleted or dropped. You pick Cancel or Proceed. If nobody answers in 60 seconds, it cancels.

When Claude edits a README, I want to see the page, not the raw text. md-preview renders it like GitHub in a pane next to the chat. Press `b` for before and after.

This one is just for fun. It shows the song, a progress bar and the lyric being sung. Click ⏮ ⏸ ⏭ to control it.

When Claude starts subagents, I lose track fast. mission-control shows each agent and every tool call. A second view maps the files they read and write.

Add the marketplace once, then install any mod by name:

```
claude plugin marketplace add hamzafer/claude-code-mods
claude plugin install context-bar@claude-code-mods
```

You need Claude Code 2.1.287 or newer. Restart after installing.

Every mod has its own page here: [hamzafer.github.io/claude-code-mods](https://hamzafer.github.io/claude-code-mods/). The code is on [GitHub](https://github.com/hamzafer/claude-code-mods), MIT licensed.

What would you build? Tell me in the comments.
