HPE and Oracle strengthen their partnership to accelerate the deployment of large-scale AI infrastructure. Oracle chooses HPE Juniper Networking as the backbone of its global data center networks, focusing on performance, scalability, and intelligent telemetry.
HPE and Oracle announce the further expansion of their partnership in the networking field. The focus is on the global rollout of HPE Juniper Networking in Oracle’s data centers to support the rise of AI superclusters. This step builds on more than ten years of joint technological development.
The partnership is aimed at strengthening Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with routing and switching platforms for Oracle’s growing AI activities.
PTX and MX routers #
Under the new agreement, Oracle will deploy HPE Juniper Networking PTX and MX routers and QFX and EX switches worldwide. These networking solutions form the foundation for OCI’s data centers and edge networks.
The latest QFX switches offer high-density connectivity, dynamic load balancing, and advanced congestion management, necessary for AI backbone networks based on RoCEv2. By choosing a uniform HPE Juniper Networking architecture, Oracle can manage and optimize its networks more easily according to the needs of each environment.
Intelligent telemetry #
In addition to hardware, the partnership includes multi-year network support services and joint development of intelligent telemetry. This gives OCI better insight into network behavior, allowing it to respond faster to packet loss, traffic imbalances, and component degradation.
According to HPE and Oracle, an integrated ecosystem, where every layer of the technology stack works together, is necessary to build and maintain AI infrastructure at scale. The partnership should help OCI meet the demands of traffic management, power supply, and operation in increasingly large AI environments.
In addition to technological integration, the multi-year agreement also provides for financial arrangements, including warrants that give Oracle the right to acquire shares of HPE.
