A meeting can end with a next step and still leave important questions unanswered. You remember someone asking about access, timing, or responsibility, but the discussion moved on.

OGAD (Off Grid AI Desktop) can help you review a saved recording for questions that appear unresolved. Transcribe the audio locally, check the text, and ask a local model to distinguish answers from deferrals. You then verify the candidate questions before using them in a follow-up.

For a small service team, this can turn an uncertain “We should check what is missing” into a short list of specific questions. The value is in finding gaps while there is still time to resolve them before delivery.

A question is open when the available record does not establish an answer. That can mean nobody responded, the response was deferred, or the answer depended on information that was not yet available. Keep those cases distinct because they need different follow-ups.

Suppose a client call covers moving an appointment service to a new booking flow. Someone asks who will supply the existing customer list. Another person asks whether weekend appointments follow the same rules. The first gets an owner; the second gets “We need to check.”

Your review should preserve the difference:

| Status | What it means for the follow-up |
|---|---|
| Answered | Keep the answer and its evidence |
| Partly answered | Ask for the missing condition or detail |
| Deferred | Confirm who will answer and when |
| No answer found | Check the recording before treating it as open |
| Answered later | Link the later answer and avoid asking again |

“No answer found” is a useful review status. It is more accurate than assuming that the client never answered anywhere.

Use a recording saved as an audio file and downloaded local speech and text models in OGAD. Complete installation and model downloads while connected. The saved-file route is part of the free core app and does not require Pro meeting capture.

The model-setting steps below use an Apple Silicon Mac. The desktop core also supports saved audio on Windows, where speech setup can differ. Linux packages are available in [0.0.54-beta.108](https://github.com/off-grid-ai/OGAD/releases/tag/v0.0.54-beta.108) as a beta release.

Keep any agenda or follow-up notes with the recording. They can help you recognise a question even when the speaker phrased it indirectly, such as “We still need a decision about weekend bookings.”

Start with a short meeting section. A large transcript may exceed the available model context, so a whole-day workshop needs a section-by-section review.

Select local models for both transcription and chat. Process the saved audio, open the text preview, and check the passages that contain questions or commitments. Fix material errors in a separate local text file before asking for the review.

A video needs an exported audio track for this route. The [ordinary video attachment code](https://github.com/off-grid-ai/OGAD/blob/v0.0.54-beta.108/src/main/files.ts) samples visual frames instead of transcribing the full soundtrack.

Check small words carefully. “We can provide that” and “We cannot provide that” can lead to opposite follow-up decisions.

Request candidate questions with evidence and a status. Avoid asking for a confident final list of everything the meeting failed to resolve.

Review this transcript for questions and requests for decisions. For each one, show the wording, a short source quote, any answer you can find, and one status: answered, partly answered, deferred, or no answer found. Check later passages before marking a question open. Do not invent an owner, deadline, or answer.

Then review the proposed open items. Search the transcript for the topic and alternative wording. People often answer a question without repeating the words used to ask it.

For the weekend-booking example, search for “Saturday,” “Sunday,” and “availability” as well as “weekend.” The answer may appear under a different term.

For each checked open question, state the decision needed and why it matters to the next step. Keep the message neutral. A clear question is easier to answer than an accusation that somebody missed something.

A proposed follow-up could be:

Should weekend appointments use the same availability rules as weekday appointments? We need this to finish the booking configuration.

Ask the model to draft from your reviewed list:

Turn these checked open questions into a short follow-up. Ask one question per item. State the work each answer would unblock. Do not assign responsibility or add urgency that is not in my notes.

Review the wording before sending it through your normal communication channel. Generating the text does not send a message or establish that the recipient has accepted a task.

Check each meeting first, then compare the reviewed question lists with later notes. A question left open on Monday may have been settled on Thursday. Keep dates and source filenames beside each item.

For repeated use, create a project in **Projects > New project**. Add checked transcripts and question lists under **Knowledge & settings > Knowledge base > Add files**. After indexing, open **Chats > New chat** inside the project.

Ask whether a specific question has a later answer. Project search helps locate relevant passages, but it retrieves a bounded selection. It does not prove that an answer is absent from every record.

Keep a small manual list of confirmed open questions. Update it when you receive a clear answer so your next follow-up does not repeat resolved items.

| Cause | How to check it |
|---|---|
| Speech recognition missed an answer | Replay the relevant audio |
| The answer uses different wording | Search related terms and read nearby paragraphs |
| The question was hypothetical | Check whether anyone actually requested a decision |
| A later meeting answered it | Review the later source before following up |
| The model did not see the full transcript | Review sections separately |

Do not rely on automatic speaker names or timestamps from this saved-audio attachment route. If you need to attribute a question, verify the person against the recording or your existing labelled notes.

[Download OGAD](https://getoffgridai.co/desktop/) and review one recent call. Finish with a short list of checked questions, the source for each, and the next piece of work each answer would enable.

Keep speech and chat models local for offline processing after setup. Any remote models, sharing tools, or later messages use their own connection and data handling.
