OpenCode crossed 165,000 GitHub stars in 2026 and became the most-used open-source coding agent by a wide margin, with monthly active developer counts reported anywhere from 2.5 million in February to over 7 million by June, growth fast enough that any specific number here is likely already out of date by the time you’re reading it.
