How do you even investigate Segfaults with OpenAI Agents?

A Hacker News user posting as gnatolf reported that OpenAI's Astra, Sol, and Luna agents refuse to complete segfault probe work on an open, locally checked-out codebase, hitting a 'security work' blocker when asked why a high index causes an out-of-bounds read. The user said there is no nefarious intent behind the query and cannot see why it would trigger safeguards, and asked for tips or hints.

I cannot get any Astra/Sol/Luna agent to finish the probe work on this without it running into the 'security work' blocker. This is an open code base, locally checked out. Any tips or hints? There is not a sliver of nefarious intent behind me asking "why does a high index XY cause an out-of-bound read". And I can't see why this would trigger any safeguards. |
