# Hitachi Vantara storage sales buck up

[Hitachi Vantara](https://www.blocksandfiles.com/ai-ml/2026/07/20/hitachi-vantara-becomes-customer-zero-for-its-own-hmax-ai-manufacturing-overhaul/5274840) has reported a 45 percent year-on-year increase in storage revenue for its first fiscal 2026 quarter.

Hitachi Vantara’s total Q1 FY2026 revenue rose 12 percent in the quarter, ended June 30, while global product revenue grew 31 percent. High-end storage revenue grew 54 percent while mid-range revenues grew 43 percent. The company said this reflected continued demand for its [Virtual Storage Platform One](https://www.blocksandfiles.com/ai-ml/2025/11/19/hitachi-vantaras-high-end-block-storage-array-news/1708221) (VSP One) portfolio. VSP One brings block, file and object data together within a unified platform. Overall block revenue increased 49 percent, but with a lower, 24 percent, increase in the USA.

Hitachi Vantara CRO Adrian Johnson, who was promoted in January from the SVP & GM Americas and APAC role, said: “Every major business priority now has a data infrastructure requirement attached to it. As organizations expand their use of AI and modernize their most critical applications, they need infrastructure that can deliver more performance and resilience without adding another layer of complexity. Our Q1 performance reflects the growing need for infrastructure that is easier to manage, keeps critical applications running and can support more data and workloads without the need for a major overhaul.”

According to [IDC](https://www.idc.com/resource-center/press-releases/worldwide-external-enterprise-storage-systems-market-accelerates-to-22-7-growth-in-the-first-quarter-of-2026-driven-by-ai-infrastructure-demand-and-deferred-refresh-spending-according-to-idc/), worldwide external OEM enterprise storage systems revenue increased 22.7 percent year over year during the first three months of 2026, driven by AI infrastructure demand and deferred refresh spending.

Hitachi Vantara product revenue grew 73 percent across EMEA and 52 percent in the Asia-Pacific region.

It is outpacing competitors in storage revenue growth terms. NetApp grew its revenues 12 percent in the its fourth fiscal 2026 quarter ended April 24. Everpure revenues rose 35 percent its first fiscal 2027 quarter, ended May 3.
