## About Hermes Agent

Hermes Agent, built by Nous Research, is a general-purpose AI agent with a built-in learning loop: it creates skills from experience, improves them in use, persists knowledge, searches its own past conversations and builds a model of the user across sessions. It works with any model provider, including Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI or your own endpoint, and runs on anything from a small VPS to serverless infrastructure, reachable from messaging apps such as Telegram.

Hermes Agent is an open-source project written primarily in Python, with 248k stars on GitHub. It was last updated in September 2026.
