San Francisco’s most expensive home listing is a sprawling mansion owned by a tech heiress and award-winning author that’s hosted ex-presidents and pop stars.
Nicole Miner, whose father Robert Miner co-founded Oracle, and her author hubby Robert Mailer Anderson are off their Pacific Heights mansion to the tune of $65 million.
The philanthropists’ four-bedroom, 11,150-square-foot home — which was once a posh elementary school that closed in 1971 — is believed to be the most expensive home to hit the market in San Francisco this year.

Described as a “modern estate,” the home at 2916 Pacific Ave. includes sprawling gardens and two separate residences.
Miner and Anderson, who penned the novel “Boonville,” paid just $5 million for three vacant lots in 1999 and spent years building out the showpiece property, according to the San Francisco Business Times. They reportedly spent $25 million on the project, including the cost of land.
The power couple is now downsizing because their children are older, said listing agent Ronda Priestner of Compass.
The couple are noted arts patrons and major donors to Democratic causes, reportedly hosting the likes of former President Barack Obama for an “intimate dinner,” performers Al Green, Elvis Costello, Les Claypool, and Booker T., comedian Dave Chappelle and authors Amy Tan and Daniel “Lemony Snicket” Handler.
The home is made of limestone and wood and was designed by architect Marc LaRoche, according to the paper.
Guests are greeted by original carved stone from the former school, Grant Elementary. The home features an interior courtyard with citrus trees, a curved design, a spa, a sports court, a separate 4,800-square-foot guesthouse and extensive sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay.
