It is increasingly important that AI systems be safe to use and that their governance be grounded in transparency and clear accountability.\n\nTo help advance the vision set out in [Canada's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy: AI for All](https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/ised/en/canadas-national-artificial-intelligence-strategy-ai-all), the Government of Canada has launched a public consultation on increasing AI transparency. Increased transparency can help Canadians understand when they are interacting with AI systems, help businesses make informed decisions about the AI products they adopt, and give governments and organizations the information they need to develop policies and research that shape Canadians' experience with AI.\n\nThe government has identified five areas where transparency issues arise and where further action may be warranted:\n\n- Detecting and identifying AI-generated content\n- Empowering individuals to know when they are interacting with an AI system\n- Improving the availability of consistent and understandable information about AI systems, including their development, capabilities and limitations\n- Enabling the tracking of serious incidents related to AI systems\n- Advancing ways to better track the activity and interactions of AI agents\n\nYou are invited to take the survey and share your views on these issues.\n\n## Discussion paper\n\nFurther information on the five areas covered in the survey is available in the discussion paper: [Enhancing trust in artificial intelligence through increased transparency](https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/ised/en/have-your-say-advancing-ai-transparency-canada/enhancing-trust-artificial-intelligence-through-increased-transparency).\n\n## How to participate\n\n- Respond to the anonymous survey or submit comments by email to\n[AIConsultations-ConsultationsIA@ised-isde.gc.ca](mailto:AIConsultations-ConsultationsIA@ised-isde.gc.ca). - The consultation will be open from July 23 to September 23.\n- Submissions will be considered public documents and may be posted online.\n- Do not include any personal or confidential information in your submission.\n\n## Vision statement\n\n[Canada's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy: AI for All](https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/ised/en/canadas-national-artificial-intelligence-strategy-ai-all) sets out the government's plan to introduce new legislation, investments and programs over the next five years to ensure that AI is adopted responsibly, in a way that truly serves all Canadians. This goal will only be accomplished by building trust, expanding opportunities and strengthening our digital sovereignty.\n\nAt its core, AI for All is grounded in the principle that the benefits of AI must be shared widely, ensuring that workers, businesses and communities across Canada can access and benefit from AI. To achieve these goals, the government is opening a dialogue on opportunities to enhance AI transparency so that Canadians and Canadian businesses can make informed decisions about using, adopting and engaging with AI and that governments, researchers and civil society organizations have the information they need to shape AI policy and research.\n\n## Next steps\n\nFollowing the consultation, the government will review submissions and publish a What We Heard report. Depending on the volume of submissions, AI tools may be used to process the feedback received.\n\n**Get in touch**\n\nIf you have any questions or require assistance regarding this consultation, please contact us by email at [AIConsultations-ConsultationsIA@ised-isde.gc.ca](mailto:AIConsultations-ConsultationsIA@ised-isde.gc.ca).", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/have-your-say-on-advancing-ai-transparency-in-canada", "canonical_source": "https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/ised/en/have-your-say-advancing-ai-transparency-canada", "published_at": "2026-07-25 20:07:03+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-07-25 20:22:32.790646+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "ai-policy", "ai-ethics", "ai-safety", "ai-agents"], "entities": ["Government of Canada", "Canada's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy: AI for All"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/have-your-say-on-advancing-ai-transparency-in-canada", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/have-your-say-on-advancing-ai-transparency-in-canada.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/have-your-say-on-advancing-ai-transparency-in-canada.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/have-your-say-on-advancing-ai-transparency-in-canada.jsonld"}}
