If you use Hermes, each bot has its own profile which can be configured with soul, memory and model settings. Each bot can be the same model or different models, and you can also configure the reasoning level for each bot.

You can assign up to 6 bots to a group chat, and the soul + description will decide how they work on a given problem.

For the initial planning I normally use a facilitator, architect, researcher, reviewer, tech lead, and my default hermes profile.

The facilitator will try to keep focus on my initial idea, the architect and tech lead are the main roles for solving the problem, and the researcher and reviewer mainly function as fact-checkers. Adding the main hermes profile is useful because it holds my main memory, it means the group has to work with fewer assumptions.

I don’t expect the group chat to come to a conclusion, it always seems like the last 10% takers 90% of the time. When I believe the problem has been analysed I’ll just tell hermes to write a design spec from the chat, and use that document to create the cards for the hermes kanban board.

You can also assign bots to each card on the kanban board, and they work the same way as with the group chat. I mostly just let hermes set up the kanban board, if the design doc need bots to do a special task, hermes can create new bots with the soul file to got them to fill the roles you need.
