HappyRobot raises $150M at $1.2B valuation to bring AI agents to critical enterprise work

HappyRobot Inc., a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup that automates enterprise operations, said today it raised $150 million, led by Prysm Capital and co-led by Eurazeo, bringing the company’s post-money valuation to $1.2 billion.

Existing investors a16z, Base10, Y Combinator joined venture capital firms Koch Disruptive Technologies, Orange, T.Capital, Bankinter, Endeavor Catalyst, Kfund and Wave-X in the Series C round. Today’s round brought the company’s total funding to around $200 million, including $44 million in Series B raised in September.

“Getting agents to do work is the starting point, not the destination,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Pablo Palafox.

HappyRobot brings AI agents to enterprise work, building the infrastructure to allow automated agents to deploy and operate at scale.

Today, the enterprise depends on millions of phone calls, emails, documents and other disconnected systems to organize every day. The company says that AI presents a better way to curate, understand and triage incoming signals to keep businesses running. Its solution works by deploying agents that can work within enterprise systems and alongside teams to smooth out gaps to catch what might otherwise get missed in the chaos.

The company said it works with more than 150 enterprise customers, including DHL Group, Kuehne + Nagel International AG, Naturgy Energy Group SA, Repsol SA and Uber Technologies Inc., and has grown more than five times since its Series B raise in September.

The platform deploys “AI workers” that can be as simple as agents that work through monthly operations to generate reports, or as complex as workflows that check workers’ status to fill daily schedules. An AI agent could spend the day reaching out to workers to confirm work attendance the following day or week via phone calls or email contact – a tedious task for a human employee – and keep a calendar updated. It could also call contractors to fill in any gaps that might open up because of illness or vacation needs to make certain that positions and time remain filled.

The company’s system is highly configurable and keeps operations humming even when human workers are overloaded. It is designed to be intuitive, where new AI agents can be spun up with a simple prompt. The company’s AI builder allows operations teams to ideate a new agent with just an English conversation telling the system what they need, what systems it will affect and the work that needs to be done.

“HappyRobot’s thesis is that enterprise superintelligence, where an organization’s collective intelligence compounds as agents and people learn from one another, requires far more than task-performing agents,” added Palafox.

Over the past year, HappyRobot expanded its operations from two offices to eight locations across North America, Europe, Latin America and Australia. Although the company started in logistics, it has grown to cover insurance, energy and utilities, telecommunications, airlines, and other sectors where business-critical work often depends on manual coordination.

With the new funding on board, the company said it plans to invest further in its platform, including expanding AI capabilities, enterprise integrations and the infrastructure needed to deploy AI agents at scale. This means building out its engineering and go-to-market teams globally to support increasing demand.
