Its gentle, informative, introductory program seems designed for people just getting into exercise. Nike’s introductory program seems [similarly non-agro](https://www.nike.com/au/running/guided-runs/get-started), but I can see Apple having a tough time in this market. From the outside (I don’t use any of these apps), it seems like Apple’s friendly guided runs would be great for beginners, but that serious fitness junkies probably graduate to, or were already hooked on, more hardcore programs and devices—your [Whoops](https://gizmodo.com/the-whoop-5-0-is-a-massive-upgrade-to-health-tracking-i-wasnt-ready-2000628501) and [Garmins](https://gizmodo.com/garmins-fenix-9-and-9-pro-tell-a-broader-story-about-your-physical-activity-2000802969) and such.   \n\nJudging from a [different Gurman report from back in February](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-09-16/meta-ceo-zuckerberg-leans-on-powell-mccormick-to-clear-path-for-ai-push), it sounds like Apple’s new head of services, Eddy Cue, sees room for improvement in health and fitness as well.
