Yesterday I wrote about [the internal Microsoft document](https://blog.ppb1701.com/they-said-the-quiet-part-out-loud-again) that labeled Phase 1 of their Scout AI rollout "Make people addicted." The document was written by Omar Shahine — Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Scout — whose name is on the document, on [Microsoft's own Scout announcement](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2026/06/02/introducing-microsoft-scout-your-always-on-personal-agent/), and on [his biography on Microsoft's website](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/author/omar-shahine/), which reads: *"Omar Shahine is a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft where he leads Microsoft Scout."*

Today, Satya Nadella told staff he is "not sure what this document is or who is writing and leaking this nonsense," per [404 Media](https://www.404media.co/satya-nadella-not-sure-who-said-microsoft-wanted-to-make-addictive-ai-is-looking-for-guy-who-did-this/).

He then linked to a Futurism aggregation of [the original 404 Media article](https://www.404media.co/microsoft-wants-to-make-people-addicted-to-scout-its-new-ai-assistant-internal-documents-reveal/) instead of the actual piece. The CEO of Microsoft. Linked to the aggregation.

Somewhere out there, Omar Shahine — who has been publicly documenting building Scout on LinkedIn for months, who pitched it, built it, named it, and announced it — is reading his boss call his work "nonsense" and suggest he might want to go work elsewhere. On a Thursday.

The author is in the document, Satya. His LinkedIn is public. Maybe try the other search engine.
