Grok Bot now has its own email address, so it can sign up for things for you

Grok Bot, SpaceX's AI agent, now provides users with dedicated email addresses ending in @mail.grokbot.com, allowing the agent to sign up for services, contact businesses and schedule meetings without using a person's inbox, the Grok Bot team announced on X on October 9, 2026. Users claim an address by asking Bot or tagging @bot on X, and on team plans admins must enable the feature first; each address is unique and never reissued, even after deletion. The feature is included with Cursor Pro at $20 a month, SuperGrok at $30 a month and Cursor Teams at $40 a seat a month, and Grok Bot has not said whether email costs extra, has sending limits or is limited to some countries.

Grok Bot, SpaceX's AI agent, can now send and receive email from an address of its own, so it can sign up for services, contact businesses and arrange meetings without going through your inbox. The Grok Bot team announced the feature on X on Friday, and it is rolling out to users now.

Grok Bot now has its own email.

Bot can use it to sign up for services, contact businesses for you, or schedule time with someone.

How to claim a Grok Bot email address #

Every address ends in @mail.grokbot.com, with a name of your choosing in front. To get one, "just ask Bot or tag @bot on X," Grok Bot said in a follow-up post in the same thread. On team plans, "admins must enable it for their team" first.

Grok Bot answered people tagging it in the thread, and pointed anyone who hadn't set up a Bot yet to x.ai/bot to start there. Screenshots users shared show the Bot asking for approval before it claims an address, with a warning that each address is unique and is never reissued, even after you delete it.

That last point matters: if you delete your Bot's address, you can't get it back later, and nobody else can take it over either. Choose the name with that in mind.

What a Bot email address is for #

Grok Bot names three jobs: signing up for services, contacting businesses and scheduling time with someone. Each one needs somewhere for replies to land.

  • Signing up for things. Most sign-ups end with a confirmation link or a one-time code sent by email. With its own inbox, a Bot can receive that message and finish the job, instead of waiting for you to forward it.
  • Contacting businesses. Booking a table, asking for a quote or chasing a support ticket usually turns into an email thread. A Bot with its own address can start the thread and pick up the reply.
  • Scheduling. Arranging a meeting takes back-and-forth with the other person. Grok Bot'sown guide already describes a "Calendar EA" bot that manages a diary.

The bigger change is separation. Until now, a Bot that needed to email someone had to do it from your account, so every message came from you. A separate address keeps the Bot's mail apart from yours and makes it clearer to the person at the other end that they are dealing with an assistant. Grok Bot's guides describe Bots working on sales outreach, support queues and legal operations, some set up to draft messages for a person to send.

Who can get it #

Grok Bot runs on its own cloud computer, uses the apps and websites you log it into, and keeps working after you walk away. According to Grok Bot's website, it works on desktop and iOS and is included with Cursor Pro ($20 a month), SuperGrok ($30 a month) and Cursor Teams ($40 a seat a month). Grok Bot hasn't said whether email costs extra, has sending limits or is limited to some countries.

Bot owners could already add an inbox through a third-party AgentMail plugin, available since August. The new feature builds one in, on SpaceX's own domain. It comes two days after Elon Musk said Grok Bot would use rivals' models such as Claude Opus 5.5 when they do a job better than Grok.

What could go wrong #

Email makes the agent more useful, and it raises the stakes. SpaceXAI's updated terms make users responsible for "Agentic Actions", a category that explicitly includes "sending communications". If a Bot emails the wrong business or signs you up for something you didn't want, the terms say that's on you.

Agents dealing with strangers have already slipped up elsewhere: Meta's Muse gave a buyer a user's home address while handling a Marketplace sale. Claiming a Grok Bot address needs your approval, but Grok Bot hasn't said whether the same applies every time the Bot sends an email or signs up for a service. Its website says only that Bots "come back when your approval is needed".

Why it matters #

An inbox lets an agent finish jobs that used to stall until a human clicked a link or typed a code. It also means the Bot can act online under a name that isn't yours.
