It is designed for fast, agentic coding and complex multi-step workflows, with a context window of up to 500,000 tokens, support for text and image inputs, as well as low, medium, and high reasoning effort.\n\nIn our internal testing, Grok 4.5 showed strong results across terminal-based coding tasks in Visual Studio Code and Copilot CLI. It performed especially well when dispatching tools in parallel and taking direct action, making it a strong fit for exploration, unblocking complex tasks, and time-sensitive coding workflows.\n\nThis model is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. See [GitHub Copilot’s pricing for models and requests](https://docs.github.com/copilot/reference/copilot-billing/models-and-pricing) for details.\n\n[Availability in GitHub Copilot](#availability-in-github-copilot)\n\nGrok 4.5 will be available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise SKUs.\n\nYou’ll be able to select the model in the model picker in:\n\n- Visual Studio Code\n- Visual Studio\n- Copilot CLI\n- GitHub Copilot cloud agent\n- GitHub Copilot app\n- JetBrains\n- Xcode\n- Eclipse\n\nRollout will be gradual. Check back soon if you don’t see it yet.\n\n[Enabling access](#enabling-access)\n\nCopilot Enterprise and Copilot Business plan administrators must enable the Grok 4.5 policy in Copilot settings. The policy is off by default.\n\n[Learn more](#learn-more)\n\nTo explore all models available in GitHub Copilot, see our [documentation on models](https://docs.github.com/copilot/reference/ai-models/supported-models) and get started with Copilot.\n\n[Share your feedback](#share-your-feedback)\n\nJoin the [GitHub Community](https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/categories/copilot-conversations) to share your feedback.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/grok-4-5-is-now-available-in-github-copilot", "canonical_source": "https://github.blog/changelog/2026-07-28-grok-4-5-is-now-available-in-github-copilot", "published_at": "2026-07-28 19:10:45+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-07-28 20:53:37.317888+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "large-language-models", "ai-products", "developer-tools"], "entities": ["xAI", "Grok 4.5", "GitHub Copilot", "Visual Studio Code", "JetBrains", "Xcode", "Copilot CLI"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/grok-4-5-is-now-available-in-github-copilot", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/grok-4-5-is-now-available-in-github-copilot.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/grok-4-5-is-now-available-in-github-copilot.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/grok-4-5-is-now-available-in-github-copilot.jsonld"}}
