GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.2-Codex deprecated

GitHub deprecated GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.2-Codex across most Copilot experiences on June 5, 2026, with GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.3-Codex as suggested replacements. The models remain available for Copilot code review, and Enterprise administrators must update model policies to enable access to the alternatives.

GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.2-Codex deprecated As of today, June 5, 2026, we have deprecated the following models across most GitHub Copilot experiences including Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask and agent modes, and code completions . As an administrator, you can verify availability by checking your individual Copilot settings and confirming that the policy is enabled for the specific model. Once enabled, you’ll see the model in the Copilot Chat model selector in VS Code and on github.com. No action is required to remove the deprecated models.
