New AI features bring task automation across 40+ apps, document analysis tools, and wearable integrations to Samsung's ecosystem Google used Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked stage on July 22 to roll out the next generation of its Gemini AI platform, branding the suite of features “Gemini Intelligence.” The headline number: Gemini can now automate tasks across more than 40 popular applications, chaining together actions like ordering dinner, managing a family group chat, and booking a service appointment.
What Gemini Intelligence actually does #
Google also introduced the Gemini Notebook, a tool designed for document analysis. Users can feed documents into Gemini and get structured analysis, summaries, and insights pulled from them.
Another addition is improved natural-language widget creation. Instead of digging through settings menus and widget galleries, users can describe what they want on their home screen and Gemini builds it.
Gemini Live, the platform’s real-time voice interaction mode, also got an upgrade. Users can now share multimedia inputs during voice conversations, including images, files, and YouTube videos.
The Samsung hardware angle #
These features initially previewed on the Galaxy S26 series, with deployment beginning in 2025 and expanding through this latest announcement. Google showed Gemini working across Samsung’s broader hardware lineup, including smart glasses and watches.
What this means for investors #
The push toward agentic AI, software that autonomously executes tasks including financial transactions, has direct implications for how people interact with payment systems, digital wallets, and eventually, on-chain applications. If your phone’s AI can already order food and book services across 40+ apps, the step to “swap tokens” or “bridge assets” is architectural, not conceptual.
Samsung has already shipped crypto wallet functionality in previous Galaxy devices, and layering Gemini’s automation on top of that infrastructure is a logical next step.
