Google TV Streamer update adds Google Home Speaker support, more

Google released a new update for the Google TV Streamer, adding Google Home Speaker audio output support for spatial surround sound, Thread credentials sharing via QR codes, and the April 2026 security patch. The update, version UTTK.260317.003, prepares the device for the upcoming Gemini speakers and upgrades Thread to version 1.4.

The device launches later this week, with Google making the TV Streamer update available just before that. There’s also Thread credentials sharing via QR codes. Go to Network & Internet in Settings to “Share Thread network credentials.” This release brings the Google TV Streamer to Thread 1.4.
