Gemini Code Assist for GitHub: No new installations allowed on GitHub organizations starting June 18, 2026. Existing requests will stop being served in the weeks following June 18.
Google states the decision follows shifts in user needs toward multi-agent systems that require multiple agents communicating to split work and solve complex problems. The company is consolidating on a single product with a unified backend.

Teams using Gemini Code Assist for GitHub: Stop new organization installations as of today. Plan to transition existing usage before requests stop being served in the coming weeks.
Enterprise customers: Verify your access path. Gemini CLI and IDE extensions remain available and unchanged for users on Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise licenses, or through Google Cloud. Paid Gemini and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform API keys also continue to work.
Users with custom scripts or automations: Audit any integrations that call Gemini CLI or the IDE extensions and update them to Antigravity CLI equivalents.
