Google Search Live Now Powered By Gemini 3.8 Live

Google announced that its Gemini 3.8 Live and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking audio models now power real-time conversations in Search Live for all users, according to a company blog post. Rajan Patel, VP of Engineering for Search and co-founder of Google Lens, said on X that the update delivers more helpful responses with web links, fluid multilingual support that lets users switch languages mid-conversation, and more natural, free-flowing interactions. Search Live had previously launched globally in March after removing its opt-in requirements.
