Google Merchant Center AI Performance: AI Search Intent, Terms & Attribution

The Google Merchant Center AI Performance Insights which launched in July and has begun expanding to more regions earlier this month has also gained new metrics. AI Search intent, AI Search terms and AI attributes have been added to the Google Merchant Center AI Performance Insights report.

This update was spotted by Brodie Clark who posted a screenshot of the new report on X - he said, "The report has now expanded to include sections for the AI performance reporting related to AI Search intent, AI Search terms and AI attributes." Here is his screenshot:

Brodie explained the new metrics:

• AI Search intent: This reporting section allows you to see how your products match customer AI searches.
• AI Search terms: This reporting section recommends improving your visibility by including popular terms in your product descriptions for products that show up in AI searches.
• AI Attributes: This reporting section recommends increasing your visibility by adding missing attributes to your products that show up in AI searches.
