Google Home bug reportedly breaks Keep’s shopping list integration

Google Home's voice command integration with Google Keep shopping lists is broken for some users, with requests to add items failing or returning unrelated information, according to reports on Reddit and Android Authority. The bug appears as Google rolls out Gemini for Home, and some users find the notes and lists setting disabled with no way to re-enable it. Google has not yet addressed the issue.

Instead of adding entries to a saved list in the user’s Google Keep notes, the assistant will give information unrelated to the shopping list, or fail to load entirely. What should happen is that Gemini for Google Home adds the items to the shopping list without an issue. But there’s a break in the usual process, leading to confusion among some users. One user reports that Google Home’s assistant would repeat the same question. The issue isn’t fully widespread and seems to be affecting a chunk of users while being a non-issue for others. Some have found that the notes and lists setting in Google Home is disabled entirely, with no way to turn it back on. That could be preventing Gemini from accessing Google Keep lists and making edits. On our end, asking Gemini to create a new list and add items to it was a flawless process. That isn’t to say we don’t experience frustrating hiccups more often than we’d like. Still, this particular issue isn’t happening here, but that clearly isn’t the case for everyone.
