Google DeepMind Unveils Genie 4 With Real-Time Simulations And Native Audio Generation Google DeepMind released Genie 4 on October 27, 2026 as a research preview, describing it as its most realistic and interactive world model and its first real-time world model that generates native audio inside a simulated environment, including background sound, music and character dialogue. Genie 4 responds to natural-language prompts in real time, letting users change weather, camera angles and add people or objects without restarting the scene, with Gemini 3.8 Flash guiding simulations and Gemini Omni generating the visual environments. Google said Genie 4 passed internal safety evaluation, carries SynthID watermarks on generated video and audio, and remains experimental, with objects and environment details able to change unpredictably over long sessions or after repeated prompt edits. Google DeepMind has released Genie 4 as its latest world model. As per Google https://in.mashable.com/tech/115397/sundar-pichai-is-giving-up-googles-cloud-revenue-for-ai-but-whats-the-bigger-plan , the system is capable of creating realistic and interactive environments which react to the user’s commands in real-time. It is able to create a simulation of natural motion and physics along with audio like background sound, music, and dialogues between characters. Google DeepMind's Genie 4: Features and Capabilities Genie 4 has been revealed by Google DeepMind as a research preview that integrates real-time interaction and more realistic simulations. Genie 4 draws from the wider Gemini family where Gemini Omni creates realistic environments visually and in terms of behavior while other Gemini models provide reasoning for maintaining consistency within simulated scenes. This is Genie 4, our most realistic and interactive world model yet. 🌐 Explore dynamic environments in real time to see how the scene responds, sounds, and how the people in it move, react, and speak. — Google DeepMind @GoogleDeepMind October 27, 2026 https://x.com/GoogleDeepMind/status/2115114028338962672?ref src=twsrc%5Etfw Users have the ability to edit a current simulation by using natural language prompts. For example, they can manipulate the weather, the camera angles, and even introduce people and objects without the need to reinitiate the environment. One of the new features is the ability to generate native audio in real-time. According to Google, Genie 4 is their first real-time world model that can produce audio within a simulated environment. That includes background noise, such as the sound of wind blowing through the trees and waves crashing on a beach. The model can be used to create interactions between the characters, too. These interactions would include a response from the dialogue to the user commands and events that occur. Thus, the audio would be able to reflect the changes in the generated environment rather than relying solely on the recorded audio files. According to Google, Gemini 3.8 Flash serves as the guidance in the process of simulations. It would monitor the environment generated by the model, break down the task into smaller ones, check the incoming frames and see if each of the steps was fulfilled. Google DeepMind is also looking into using Gemini 4 Argon and Genie 4 as a part of its Gemini Robotics project. However, Genie 4 is still an experimental project and it does have some flaws. Objects and the details of the environment might change in an unpredictable manner during long sessions or even after a series of prompt-based manipulations. Google noted that the model has passed the internal safety evaluation and includes the necessary measures in order to avoid generating any harmful content. The company also stated that videos and audio files that were made using Genie 4 would include the SynthID watermark.
