The head of the Artificial Intelligence company Anthropic has called for a global slowdown in AI development, as concerns mount over the technology's potential risks.
Dario Amodei says the risks associated with developing AI are "serious" and both companies and governments need to be given more time to address them.
It comes after an AI researcher at Anthropic quit last week, warning that employees at the company believed AI could wipe out humanity by the end of the decade.
