The project also battled a flood of AI-generated GNOME Shell extensions carrying 'the same exact bad practices', prompting a blog post to help AI/LLMs improve code quality. Additionally, ChromaLeon was released as an extension for coloring the GNOME Shell using accent colors from the wallpaper, and GNOME 51 began its API/ABI, feature, and UI freezes.
