Global: Google Search Console AI Performance Report & AI Control

Google has globally rolled out the Google Search Console generative AI performance report and Search generative AI controls, allowing site owners to see AI feature impressions and block content from AI features. The rollout, completed as of August 31, 2026, includes data on impressions, pages, countries, devices, and dates, but no click or query data. The new toggle lets site owners opt out of content being used in AI Overviews, AI Mode, or AI Overviews in Discover.

For real this time, Google has released the Google Search Console generative AI performance reports and Search generative AI controls to everyone globally. This follows a slow rollout that began in the first week of June and expanded access to the features over the past few months. Google posted updates on this on this blog post and this blog post and this help document. Google wrote:

Note: As of August 31, 2026, we’ve rolled out this control to all websites worldwide.

If you still don't see it, it might be because there is not enough data for your site to have the report.

For the generative AI performance report, you should see it as an expandable tab under the main performance report in Google Search Console - here is what that looks like:

Here is what the report looks like:

The report includes the following data (no click data and no query data):

Impressions: How often URLs from your site appeared in generative AI features in Search and Discover.Pages: Check which URLs appeared within AI features.Countries: Understand your visibility on a country basis.Devices: Identify the devices people are using when seeing your website (available for Search results).Dates: Monitor your performance over time with hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly granularity.

To prevent AI blocking controls from appearing and being used for Search generative AI, Google is also rolling out globally a toggle that lets site owners block their content from appearing in/around AI features such as AI Overviews, AI Mode, or AI Overviews in Discover. This toggle will let site owners opt out of their content being used in AI features, either as links or for grounding.

Here is a screenshot of that setting:
